A late Bristol City goal at Oakwell denied Barnsley a first home win since early November in the Championship and head coach Jose Morais' search for three points in the home dug out goes on.

Kieffer Moore had given Barnsley a seventh minute lead in the game as he headed home and a Brad Potts effort 12 minutes from time looked to have secured a vital victory for Morais as the visitors struggled to create much of note but they got a stroke of luck in stoppage time and tied the game up once again.

Had we held on for victory it would've been only our fourth win at Oakwell in 2017/18 and in not taking the opportunity to hold that gap on Birmingham City, victory for them in tomorrow's fixtures will see Barnsley slip into the bottom three and they would leapfrog us into 21st place as we now only hold a one point advantage on them.

Morais did however remain confident of survival chances given the performance and determination of the players across the 90 minutes as he knew he couldn't have asked for much more from the players.

Speaking to the BBC after the referee blew the final whistle, the Portuguese gaffer explained.

"I congratulated the players for their effort and the performance. I have the feeling that we will get the points that we want. We were in a good position to win but football is like this. Sometimes you deserve something else from the game and sometimes you have the opinion that decisions did not go in your favour. I believe in the quality of these players and they are starting to believe that something remarkable will happen."

All eyes to Birmingham's result now with hope that they slip up against Ipswich Town in tomorrow's clash.
