Bobby Hassell has climbed from the fourth to the second tier of English football with relative ease.

However the former Mansfield man initally had a rocky road on his way to settling into life at Oakwell.

Bobby seemed to undergo a transformation of form at the begininning of the 2005 season. When called upon, Bobby was solid at both right back and, despite his size, was phenomenal at centre half.

Hassell is tremendous in the air despite his relatively small size, and will always go in where it hurts.

Bobby played the second half of the 2008 Championship season as a defensive midfielder, helping the Reds towards Championship safety along with keeping Michael Ballack quiet in the quarter finals of the FA Cup.
