David Cotterill scored his first Barnsley goal to give his side victory despite playing for almost an hour with 10 men.
Cotterill steered home from the edge of the box after good work by Matty Done.
Nathan Doyle was sent off 13 minutes before the break for a reckless challenge that is a red card every day of the week in the current climate. A silly challenge in an area of the pitch where it didn`t need to be made, under the referees nose and considering Andy Gray had just been booked for going to ground which signalled what type of referee we were dealing with.
Barnsley were very much in control at the time of the sending off and the fans began to fear the game would now slip away from them.
But the reds worked harder than I have ever witnessed before ensuring that there would be no way through. Peterborough did have a few chances as any team would with a man extra but Barnsley`s grit and determination could not be breached and they held on for the win their performance deserved.
