Barnsley vs. Charlton

Oakwell

Saturday 13th April 2013

3pm

Barnsley v Charlton

Barnsley entertain Charlton on the back of two impressive draws away at Crystal Palace and Cardiff.

Vital Quotes:Oldtimetyke

The reds are staying up, the reds are staying up.

Barnsley Team News:

Barnsley are likely to be without Kelvin Etuhu and Martin Cranie yet again.

Jimmy McNulty, Rob Edwards, Rory Delap, Reuben Noble-Lazarus and Scott Goldbourne are all out.

Player to watch: Dawson

He`s had a few games back now and will be back in his preferred central midfield position so I`m hoping to see him back to his best.

Charlton Team News:

Leon Cort is hoping to be back in the Charlton squad for this one but it may still be too early to throw him back in following a knee injury.

Danny Hollands is out but Danny Haynes could return to the squad after missing out against Leeds.

Player to watch: Haynes

Another former red returning.

Team and Tactics

The defence picks itself with the injury problems in that area but there is no need to change anything there anyway following the last two performances.

In midfield Perkins, Dawson and Mellis will play. O`Brien`s position could come under threat from Cywka after he impressed as a substitute at Cardiff.

I think that the reds boss could go for Cywka. O`Brien`s form has been poor of late. You can never fault his work rate and it`s something that can be valuable particularly away from home but I think Cywka will get the nod in this one.

Up front we have four good options to pick from. O`Grady will start and I think Scotland will come in for Harewood.

It was a good decision to start Harewood at Cardiff with them being a big strong team but again with this one being at home and Scotland being the only natural goal scorer I think he will start.

I hope a 3-0 win for the Tykes, but any win would do, it all depends if they can keep playing as well as they have against the top teams..?

Well, the answer to my own question is No..! I've gone from being confident of being safe, to not confident at all now!...that was supposed to be a very winnable game and It's spoiled all the good work done so far...I don't know if, or how DF is going to lift the players after that debacle, but the writing could well be on the wall now...? but it was a very gallant effort to get us to this position anyway.

i never saw that coming. tuesday is a must win, but considering we were down at xmas we aint done bad. we arent down yet !!!!
torrox tyke
This is a blow no doubt. It's not just lifting the players that's the problem it's also the players we have injured and suspended. If we win Tuesday we still have a good chance of staying up. If we lose I think that is it. It has however been a terrific effort up to now.

It's all going to hinge on tonights games and depending on results...I still think we need 55 points at least, (2 wins) but tonights game against Derby is a must win situation, anything less and the party's probably over..?
