Barnsley vs. Leeds

Oakwell

Saturday 12th January 2013

Barnsley v Leeds

Barnsley entertain Leeds still unable to appoint a permanent manager. Barnsley`s recent home games against Leeds have seen some big score lines and great results for the reds. What chances of a repeat in this one?

Vital Quotes: Oldtimetyke

My club has become a joke but even now at our lowest we can still beat Leeds.

Barnsley Team News:

Jacob Mellis is expected to be back in the Barnsley squad after the longest dead leg ever suffered. He will probably start from the bench as caretaker manager Flicker is likely to stick with the same team that beat Burnley in the FA cup.

Player to watch: Perkins

We will need him to be at his best tomorrow and cover every blade of grass.

Leeds Team News:

Leeds have now signed Michael Tonge on a permanent two and half year contract. Leeds will be hoping for some revenge against Barnsley after recent Oakwell trips.

Player to watch: Tonge

I have a feeling he could come back to haunt us.

Team & Formation

I fully expect Flicker to stick with the same team and formation that started against Burnley. He will again operate a 5-3-2 and the erratic McNulty will keep Foster on the bench.

Match Prediction:

I can`t see the usual hammering of Leeds in this one. I`m afraid I see another reds defeat. What do you guys think?

Hard to be positive to be honest, but we are there for the taking at the moment, so a draw would be a result 1-1, the players need to turn things around it's down to them to show what they are made of..?

It is but I look at the playing squad now and I think we will struggle to get many results and certainly struggle to score. Add to that the fact that we can't defend and it's very worrying.

Cant see Hignett giving the defence much advice!!
