Barnsley travel to Charlton in search of a first victory since their 5 - 0 drubbing of Birmingham. Barnsley should take a decent away following to this one with Charlton charging only a fiver to get in.
Charlton will be hoping to pick the same 11 that defeated Blackpool 2 - 0 in their last Championship outing. But Johnnie Jackson, Danny Green and Jordan Cook could all come back into contention following injury.
Barnsley have a possible defensive crisis. Stephen Foster, Jim McNulty and Martin Cranie are all struggling to be fit in time. It was expected that the international break would give the trio time to recover but that is looking increasingly unlikely now.
If none of them make it Bobby Hassell is expected to partner Scott Wiseman at centre back in a defence that will be made up entirely of full backs.
Both are more than capable there but I would like to see at least one out and out centre back beside one of them and not be forced to play them both together.
This all begs the question of why Rob Edwards was allowed to leave on loan. He`s far from my favourite player but I would much rather see his name on the team sheet if Foster and/or McNulty are unavailable.
Charlton are in search of a first league win in six games against Barnsley. The last came in 1999 when Clive Mendonca bagged a hat-trick.
Barnsley registered their first ever win at the valley on their last visit. 3 - 1 in November 2008.
Charlton need to score twice to total 50 home league goals against Barnsley.
Barnsley have won only one of their last six. Defeat here would see them suffer three successive league defeats for the first time this season.
Barnsley have lost four out of five away games this season, the worst away record in the league.
The reds only away win this season was 5 - 0 at Birmingham. That game is the only game this season that Barnsley have scored more than one goal in.
