Match Facts & Stats

The last meeting between these clubs was 10 years ago, when Blackburn won 3-1 at home in an FA Cup third round replay.

Their last league clash was goalless in February 2001; the first time in 10 Premier League and second level games at Ewood Park that there was a share of the spoils.

Blackburn need two goals to total 100 goals in competitive matches against the Tykes.

Blackburn defend one of the two remaining unbeaten records in the Championship, and lead the Championship by one point.

Blackburn are the top scorers in the division (12 in five), and are chasing a fourth win which would make it their best start to a league campaign since 1994.

Blackburn have won one match and drawn another, picking up an unsurpassed four Championship points, from losing positions.

Barnsley have lost their last four away league games, and are without victory in 12 Championship matches on the road, since the victorious trip to Leicester on 14 January 2012.

Barnsley have scored in all seven league and cup matches this season, but have conceded a total of eight goals from their two matches away from home including five at Brighton.

Keith Hill has used fewer players than any other Championship manager (17), probably not by choice with the injuries problems Barnsley have suffered this season.

Match Prediction:

Barnsley have been great at home so far this season but their away form has been very poor so I can't see anything other than another away defeat particularly against the Championship leaders. I'll go for Blackburn 3 - 1 Barnsley.
