Pinnock In Team Of The Week (4/1/18)

Pinnock In Team Of The Week (4/1/18)

Barnsley are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Ethan Pinnock in the one nil victory over Sunderland on New Year's Day at the Stadium of Light was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Pinnock was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'A second strike in as many games for Pinnock was enough for Barnsley to see off Sunderland 1-0 at the Stadium of Light. His close-range header at the beginning of the second period gave the Tykes a narrow advantage, which then they protected resolutely.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Pinnock for his recognition, but the most important thing about the game was of course the points.

Full Team:

Jordan Smith (Nottingham Forest), Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham), Daniel Ayala (Middlesbrough), Ethan Pinnock (Barnsley), Robert Snodgrass (Aston Villa), Matt Bloomfield (Wycombe Wanderers), Tom Naylor (Burton Albion), Tom Pett (Stevenage), Kane Hemmings (Mansfield Town), Tom Eaves (Gillingham), Robbie Willmott (Newport County).

Manager Steve Cotterill (Birmingham City).
