Fryers In Team Of The Week (7/11/17)

Fryers In Team Of The Week (7/11/17)

Barnsley are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Zeki Fryers in the two nil victory over Birmingham City at the weekend at Oakwell was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Fryers was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Barnsley recorded a comfortable 2-0 victory over Birmingham City at Oakwell, with Zeki Fryers forming part of the Tykes` defence which kept a clean sheet. Defensive glory wasn`t the only thing which came his way either, as he netted his side`s second of the afternoon from a free-kick.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Fryers for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Darren Randolph (Middlesbrough), Zeki Fryers (Barnsley), Yoann Barbet (Brentford), Ben Turner (Burton Albion), Jordan Spence (Ipswich Town), Callum O'Dowda (Bristol City), Jacob Butterfield (Sheffield Wednesday), Ruben Neves (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Gary Madine (Bolton Wanderers), Leon Clarke (Sheffield United), Tyler Walker (Nottingham Forest).

Manager - Jaap Stam (Reading).
