O`Brien Signs For Coventry

Coventry have signed former Barnsley winger Jim O`Brien.

O`Brien rejected a contract at Oakwell stating that he wanted Championship football, yet he has signed for another League One club.

A move to Coventry seems strange particularly as the club can`t even afford to play in their own city.

Are we offering 'top 6` wages as Mansford states or are they anything but competitive as Bobby Hassell suggested?

Are we becoming a joke of a club destined to plummet down the leagues or are we merely offering players what they are worth rather than what they think they are worth?

Maybe there is no more to it than a player wanting a fresh start at a new club where he might be able to reopen his twitter account without receiving abuse from his own fans.

Whatever the reason, I am somewhat bemused by his decision to join Coventry but I would like to wish him all the best for the rest of his career. One thing is for sure and that is whenever O`Brien pulled on a red shirt, he gave everything he had for the team.
