Barnsley Squad

Barnsley Squad

Barnsley played two games on Saturday, one a 3 - 2 victory over Rotherham and the other a 2 - 0 victory over Frickley.

As I look at the teams put out in both those games it gives me great confidence for the season and shows that we have strength in depth within the squad.

The team against Rotherham - Steele, Cranie, M`voto, Nyatanga, Kennedy, Mellis, Dawson, Perkins, Golbourne, Dagnall, O`Grady. Subs - Dibble, Patterson, Oates.

The team against Frickley - Alnwick, Wiseman, Hassell, McNulty, Noble-Lazarus, O`Brien, Clark, Cywka, Jennings, Cofie, Scotland.

Add to that the missing Etuhu, Rose and Digby and what we have is a squad with competition throughout and promising youngsters ready to fulfil their potential and move on to the next stage in their career.

For the first time in a long time I am feeling optimistic heading in to the new season. I don`t want to get too carried away as this league is extremely difficult but the signs are looking good. COYR.
