Barnsley Sign M`voto

Barnsley have completed the signing of defender Jean-Yves M`voto on a two year deal.

The 6ft 4`` Frenchman put pen to paper today after leaving Oldham Athletic in the summer.

The 24 year old moved to Oldham from Sunderland and made 123 appearances in all. He began his career at PSG before moving to Sunderland in 2008.

Speaking to the official website he said 'I had a talk with the manager, I like his project and everything he said. I just wanted to come to Barnsley.`

Admittedly I don`t know much about Jean-Yves M`voto but having a 6ft 4`` beast at the back certainly gives us a different option to what we already have.

Whether he will be a regular or not remains to be seen but he could come in and be very useful against the big teams we notoriously struggle against.

Flicker continues signing players and with each one another base is covered. And although the Barnsley boss has said one more striker and he`s happy, I still expect some more surprise signings through the door.

No midfielders have been signed, which is odd. Jennings is a winger, he could play on the flanks but I wouldn't count him as a midfield player still.

Midfield was probably our strongest area out of all the positions with the squad of players we had left at the end of the season - Perkins, Dawson, Etuhu, Mellis and Digby coming through. But I too wouldn't mind another creative midfield player in the squad.

iam suprised there hasnt been any rumours regarding Stones or Butterfield returning, in what ever capacity!

He's openly said if he can get them back on loan he will. He will probably have to wait until the trnasfer window shuts if there is any possibility. The prem teams will know who they will want then.

yes, fair comment.
