Flicker Honoured

Barnsley boss David Flitcroft spoke to the press following the weekend`s impressive victory over Watford and had this to say.

'It`s an honour to be part of this group. We`ve always had brilliant players, they just needed galvanising.

'Keeping a clean sheet against Watford, I`m not sure how many times they`ve not scored. The timing of the goal was special because it gave us a foothold in the game.

'We got it right today; we`ve worked hard on that this week. They`ve got pace, qualities and vigour. We`ve had to nullify a lot of qualities.

'In a Dave Flitcroft team it`s (hard work) a given. Our lads have shown great quality. Chis O`Grady`s effort, his hold-up play, his link-up play is something I`ll remember for a long, long time.

'It`s a team performance and what I`ll keep promoting it. It was a brilliant goal. I think it was a surprise for them to see him up there but he`s got a great spring on him. Bobby went into the middle and produced a master class.`

Yet another great interview from the reds boss who impresses me more and more every time I hear him and as the games go by.

I say get him signed up on a two - three year contract no matter what division we end up in. Hopefully it will be the Championship and so far under Flicker I see no reason to believe otherwise.

I know they were home games, but if anyone had said we would get 6 points from Brighton and Watford, I would have said you were dreaming...but the players all seem to want to play and win for each other and team spirit seems to be second to none, so lets hope DF can keep them going until the end of the season and lets see what happens..? 42% now think we will stay up (according to the site poll) so you never know, Just wish Peterborough, Ipswich, Huddersfield and others would stop winning! Any three of 10 or so can go down at this rate.

Yeah I agree, I would have been overjoyed with 4 points from those two games despite them being at home. Lot's of teams still in the mix so it promises to be a fascinating end to the season.
