Poor Start Again Costs Reds
Barnsley battled back to secure a point away at Burnley after going behind to Charlie Austin goal in the first ten minutes.
Cywka provided Barnsley with a late equaliser for a deserved point which will hopefully get the reds back on track.
Barnsley boss David Flitcroft reverted to four at the back following his failure to land a left wing back and it is something we must persist with until we can recruit the right personnel to play the system we prefer.
Flicker left Turf Moor frustrated after admitting there was only one team trying to win the game and Burnley were content to sit back throughout the entire second half.
Now back in the bottom three but with a game in hand, but no games are easy in this division and I would prefer the points in the bag rather than the game in hand.
Man City next up for Barnsley in the FA cup quarter final. It gives the reds a break from league action when most of their relegation rivals will be playing and another game to catch up on.
Now that we have gone three games without a win I hear many fans saying that the cup run is a distraction and we have too many games to play etc, etc.
I disagree. The cup run helped us with our run in the league. The team got in to the winning habit and the cup games helped this. I do believe we could have had less points on the board had we not had the cup games sandwiched between.
Having said that it is never ideal to have a back log of games when you are fighting for your lives but come the end of season when we are still a Championship side and we have reached the FA cup final even Tony won`t be able to moan.
Let`s get behind the super reds and back Flicker and the boys in every game for the rest of the season.
