How Many Points Do We Need?

How Many Points Do We Need?

Now We have Serious Hope, Here at Vital Barnsley we look at how many points we may need.

I am sure we have all seen others pick up results around us recently. I hope that we are not worried by this. This will not change the total number of points we need.

Bolton and Wolves have found themselves in the battle now, and with the run Huddersfield are on I feel they will be in the battle.

The List Below shows how many points were required for survival in each of the last 12 years.

11/12 41 Points for Survival
10/11 43 Points
9/10 48 Points
8/9 47 Points
7/8 53 Points
6/7 43 Points
5/6 43 Points
4/5 51 Points
3/4 52 Points
2/3 47 Points
1/2 50 Points
0/1 49 Points

As you see the most points any club would have required over the last 12 years is 53. We currently have 31 with 16 games remaining.
The Average number of points required is 47.25.

How Many Points do the reds require for safety?? If someone offered me 50 points now, I would be happy to take my chances.

I guess what we are saying is, you don't have to worry about others, worry about Flickers Reds and White Army and cheer them towards 53 points!

16 games left (48 points up for grabs), so if half those points are achieved on top of what we already have, then I'd say we'll need 55 points (just to be on the safe side). Just need to keep this fighting spirit going until the end of the season though, if it's possible..?

I am now beginning to feel a bit confident that we can stay up. I thought at around Christmas time that it would be a low points tally to stay up this year but with the way the teams at the bottom end are picking points up, I reckon we will need the standard 50.

Wins will breed confidence, so if we can keep picking up victories here and there, who knows how many points we'll end up with, one thing is for sure, it's going to be a closer fight than we all thought before the turn of the new year! the lads have given themselves a much better chance of staying up...just hope they can keep it going.

5 Wins, 5 Draws and 6 Defeats for 51 points. With the waywe are playing I do feel we could achieve this! Walking along, Singing a Song, Walking in a Flicker Wonderland

I think that we could do even better that but maybe we are getting carried away.

There's not been that many occasions to get excited about the team in recent years, so we're making the most of it while it lasts! Carried away...possibly? but while the feel good factor is still there, why not enjoy the ride..?

i think oldtimetyke is near enough, win 1 draw1 and loose1 from every 3 games would give us 51.hopefully enough.

If we got 51 I think we would be safe but this is a weird division results wise this season.
