'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Danny Rose

Barnsley`s January search for a striker continues. I am confident we will get one or two in before the deadline but I`m not confident we will get what we need.

For that reason I decided to do this article looking at what role Danny Rose could potentially play in the end of season run in.

Following his late winner against Burnley the young reds striker scored his first career league goal with a late equaliser against Ipswich after only being on the pitch for a matter of minutes.

I think he could have a big part to play for the rest of season coming on from the bench and I see him as a natural goal scorer just what we are in search of now.

I do think it`s too early to throw him in to the team and expect him to score the goals we need. That type of pressure could break a 19-year-old.

I do think Flicker is doing the right thing. Bringing him on when we are in search of goal and there isn`t as much pressure on him to score as if he was starting as the main striker.

I like what I`ve seen of him so far. He knows where the back of the net is. He has a good touch and is remarkably good in the air for someone of his size.

He is a little small and could do with bulking up slightly but I think he has a bright future with Barnsley and could chip in with some vital goals this season.
