Number One Target In At Bristol City

Sean O`Driscoll is the new Bristol City manager after signing a 12 month rolling contract.

O`Driscoll was Barnsley`s number one choice to replace Keith Hill and news that he has joined Bristol City will frustrate many Barnsley fans.

Bristol City currently sit bottom of the table but have convinced O`Driscoll to join them where Barnsley couldn`t.

Bristol have shown the required amount of ambition and willingness for player recruitment, something Barnsley could not offer.

I don`t blame him for choosing them over us but I do hope it`s a decision he regrets when he is heading towards League One and we preserve our Championship status.

Why can't they just be honest and say "I'd like to keep my options open", instead of "the time isn't right for me to take up another job in management just yet" what a load of rubbish, he'd probably been offered the Bristol City job weeks ago...! All this cloak and dagger stuff really gets to me, what's the difference between the excuse he made last week and his sudden decision that he's now ready to go back into management..? It's not that he turned the Barnsley job down, but the fact he said the time wasn't right at the moment, It's only a weeks difference, so what's changed..? (other than his reason was a load of B***s)

He knew he could get more money for himself and to spend on players if he hung about for a bit longer. Blackpool went in for him as well. He probably knew the offers were coming but like you say why say the bull dung about the time not being right.
