Mido to Leave

Rumours from Oakwell are suggesting that Egyptian striker Mido could leave the club as early as this week.

Barnsley boss Keith Hill seems to have lost faith with the striker with fitness issues being the main problem.

Mido has also just been docked two weeks wages (£8,000 I am led to believe) for an offensive tweet that he posted in protest against Israel.

The club now want to agree a compensation package so that they can offload Mido by mutual consent.

Mido has only played 27 minutes so far this season and is unlikely to feature again. He seems to have no interest in getting himself fit enough to put him in contention for the first team and from what I hear only club stalwart Bobby Hassell earns more.

I think getting rid of him is a sensible decision as he has proved to be just at Barnsley for another pay day.

Signing him in the summer was worth the gamble on a one year deal but the gamble hasn`t paid off so it`s time to get shut.

I`ve heard fans already saying what a waste of money he has been and what was the point signing him the first place. I didn`t however hear any of this in the summer when everyone thought he was well worth the gamble.

Let`s hear your thoughts Barnsley fans.

Was Mido worth the risk in the summer and should the club cut their losses now?
