Our new pre match feature where I would like our fans to comment with who Keith Hill should pick in his starting line-up.
For me the defence needs a shake-up. The one man who certainly needs to remain is Stephen Foster. He`s perhaps not as good as he used to be but he`s 100% our best option at the centre half.
His partner at the back is the important decision. On last year`s form it would have certainly been McNulty but this season he has been awful and has to be dropped for this one.
Other options are Cranie, Hassell and Wiseman. I don`t think Hill will turn back to Wiseman fearing a fans backlash if it went wrong.
I know many fans would like to see Bobby back in the team. I do agree with Hill that the last few times he has played right back he has been badly exposed. Right back has been his best position for Barnsley but he is now certainly fourth choice behind Cranie, Stones and Wiseman. Hassell however should come into Hill`s thinking for centre back just with the way we are shipping goals and the performance of others there. He couldn`t possibly do any worse than McNulty has and he will give everything. I do however think that I would move Cranie there and bring Stones back at right back.
I also think Kennedy`s experience at left back should give him the nod over the inconsistent Goldbourne.
Perkins has been back in training also. The starting 11 could be too soon for him but he`s worth having on the bench.
My team would be:
GK Steele
RB Stones
LB Kennedy
CB Foster
CB Cranie
RM O`Brien
CM Greening
CM Dawson
LM Buzsaky
ST Tudgay
ST Davies
Subs
Alnwick
Wiseman
Sinclair
Perkins
Mellis
Cywka
Noble-Lazarus
Agree or disagree let`s hear who you would pick.
