Coppinger Says No

James Coppinger has turned down a 2 month loan deal to the reds despite both Barnsley and Doncaster Rovers agreeing terms on the deal.

It is thought Coppinger is looking for a permanent move away from Doncaster and sees a 2 month loan as pointless while the transfer window is still open.

Barnsley could come back in for Coppinger once the transfer window closes and the loan window opens, if Coppinger is still at Doncaster. However Hull City are rumoured to be on the verge of making a move before the window closes.

Having lost out on his man, Barnsley boss Keith Hill will no doubt have other irons in the fire and I don`t expect him to play wait and see with the Doncaster man. Hill needs players now with the current injury situation at the club and I expect Barnsley to move on to their next target after the weekend trip to Brighton.
