Palace in for Done

Palace in for Done

Crystal Palace have made a bid for Barnsley winger Matty Done. The bid is believed to be a six figure sum and one that would have made the Barnsley board think about.

Barnsley boss Keith Hill will clearly want to keep Done as he sees him as an integral part of his plans. Hill brought him in from Rochdale and after a slow start to his Oakwell career, Done impressed in his first season in the Championship.

However Barnsley will always be a selling club. In particular when an offer comes in for a player that could possibly be above their valuation. The board will have seriously considered this one.

Hill will have had to fight his corner to keep him and the fact that he has become a first team regular and the injury problems at the club will have persuaded the reds to keep him.

Who knows what could happen though if Palace up their bid.

I think Barnsley are doing the right thing and need to start keeping hold of players unless they receive an offer too good to turn down.
