Norwich Land Butterfield

Norwich Land Butterfield

As expected Barnsley midfielder Jacob Butterfield has finally departed the club after sealing a Premier League move to Norwich City.

This will come as no surprise to reds fans but they were given a glimmer of hope that he might stay last week following the clubs ambitious recruitment.

A tribunal will decide the fee that Barnsley receives for Butterfield as the player is under 24.

Norwich made an offer to the reds which is way below any reasonable valuation so now it`s a wait and see process to see what compensation will be received.

Boss Keith Hill will now turn to other transfer targets after the clubs pre-season trip to Spain. Missing out on signing Norwood and losing Butterfield in the space of a week has been a big blow to the reds.
