Mellis - Needs to Grow up

Barnsley`s new midfield signing Jacob Mellis has said the time has now come for him to grow up both on and off the field.

Mellis was forced out of Chelsea last season after a training ground prank and realises it is now make or break for his career if he is to make the most of his talent.

He sees Barnsley and in particular boss Keith Hill as the ideal combination to bring out the best of his football ability and keep him in check off the field.

I agree and if he hits the form he is a capable of and gets his head right I think he could do well for Barnsley but only time will tell.

must be quite difficult, so young, so talented, not always blessed with brains and then given loads of money. I'd have been a liability at that age if I'd got half the money they get!
The Fear
I agree The Fear. I know I would have been too. I would have probably thrown my career thinking about booze and women. At least Mellis has realised he needs to sort himself out and concentrate on his football career before he throws away his talent.
