Hammers Ricardo Bid Rejected
West Ham United are believed to have had a bid for Barnsley top scorer Ricardo Vaz Te rejected. With the transfer window hours away from shutting the tykes are now preparing to keep the in form striker until the summer and risk losing him for nothing.
Barnsley though have dismissed the bid claiming it to be derisory in comparison with fees paid for other Championship players. Keith Hill stated 'We have had one for him bid so far. It was from West Ham and was derisory when you consider the amount paid for other players who are out of contract in the summer like Wes Morgan who has apparently joined Leicester from Nottingham Forest for £1million.'
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce originally brought Vaz Te to the UK back in 2003. This would no doubt have bearing in any future move from the reds.
Keith also had his say on Vaz Te's contract negotiations and was pessimistic about Ricardo staying with Barnsley after the summer stating 'I think it is highly unlikely that Ricardo will stay with us after his contract runs out at the end of the season'.
