Reds 9/2 To Fell Forest

Barnsley are 9/2 to win at the City Ground when the 2011/12 Championship campaign kicks off on August 6th.

Last season, the Reds opened their campaign away at Loftus Road against promotion favourites and eventual champions QPR, losing 4-0 and were 4/1 with most bookies for the win there.

You'd have to go back to the 2005/2006 season to find the last time the Reds won their opening fixture of a campaign, a 2-0 victory over Swindon Town at Oakwell with goals from Paul Hayes and Chris Shuker.

But to find the last time the Reds won an away match on the opening day, you'd be going back to the 1996/97 season and looking at a 2-1 victory at the Hawthorns over West Brom, with Clint Marcelle and Andy Liddell on the scoresheet for the Reds.
