'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hill Makes First Signing

Keith Hill has wasted no time in getting busy in the transfer market, making his first permanent signing for Barnsley after less than a week in the job.

David Perkins has agreed to join the club on a two year deal from Colchester United when his current contract expires.

Perkins, who picked up the Player of the Year award last season at Colchester United, jumped at the chance to link up with his former boss Hill again at Barnsley, after enjoying a spell under him at Rochdale.

On Perkins, Hill said: 'He's a little pocket rocket. I'm sure the fans will appreciate his energy and style of play.'
