Reds Break Eighteen Year Duck

Reds Break Eighteen Year Duck

The last time Barnsley played at home on the final day of the season and won was no less than 18 years ago.

The Reds faced Swindon Town who were already confirmed Play-Off Semi-Finalists and beat them 1-0 with a 77th minute strike from Gareth Williams.

Swindon of course went on to win the Play-Offs and won promotion to the Premier League.

Barnsley have put their final day home blues to bed this afternoon however, with a 1-0 victory over nearly men Millwall.

Reuben Noble-Lazarus, a half-time substitute cracked home the winner, his first senior goal, on the hour mark from 25 yards and goalkeeper Luke Steele picked up the man of the match award for a string of saves that kept Millwall out and the Reds on course for the win.
