Robins Enjoys Attacking Display
Saturday saw Barnsley win only their second game in their last eleven in the nPower Championship. A spirited 4-2 victory over Bristol City sent 10,000 Barnsley fans and Mark Robins home happy.
The Reds were rocked by Marvin Elliott's scrappy goal on seven minutes and it looked like it was going to be Barnsley's third defeat on the bounce, but the team rallied and went in at half-time leading 3-1.
Despite conceding two goals, Robins was delighted that Barnsley picked up all three points. He told the Star: 'The supporters enjoyed our victory and the atmosphere was good. Playing attacking football like we did does help generate that.'
With attendances expected to dwindle as the season peters out for Barnsley who have nothing to play for, this kind of performance will surely have had the best impact possible on fans unsure of whether or not to attend the Reds' final few matches.
The Reds now face runaway league leaders QPR tomorrow night at Oakwell and will need to be in even better form if they are to halt Neil Warnock's men charge for promotion.
