No Oakwell Stay For McShane
Mark Robins has admitted that he thinks Paul McShane will probably not be extending his loan spell at Oakwell.
The 27-year-old centre back joined Barnsley in February as cover for the injured Stephen Foster, but his 2 month loan deal will soon be over and Robins doesn't think a deal can be struck to keep the Irish international any longer.
McShane told The Star: 'It would be nice if I could stay. We`ll see what happens at the end of the season.'
But Robins isn't hopeful over a deal for the defender, telling BBC Radio Sheffield: 'I've looked at that and I'll keep pushing but I don't think we'll be able to.'
McShane has been a good servant to Barnsley in his short stint at the club, but with Bobby Hassell, Stephen Foster, Jason Shackell and Nathan Doyle all fit and able central defenders perhaps it won't be that big a loss.
