Hassell Heading For The Top

Barnsley's longest serving current player Bobby Hassell has just surpassed former Oakwell favourite Gerry Taggart's Barnsley appearance total, reaching 248 in all competitions, since he signed in the summer of 2004.

Bobby, or Mr Versatile, has already also surpassed appearance totals of such Barnsley legends as Ronnie Glavin, Bruce Dyer, Arjan De Zeeuw, Gary Fleming and even the club's all-time top scorer Ernie Hine.

With eight games of the Championship left to go, Bobby will be hopeful of closing the gap on some even bigger names in Barnsley F.C.'s folklore.

Neil Redfearn, Nicky Eaden, Mick McCarthy and Ian Banks' appearance totals will all be within reach next season for Bobby if he can stay fit and of course, stays with the club.
