Former Tykes With Bluebirds

Former Tykes With Bluebirds

Sunday's (yes Sunday) encounter at Cardiff City Stadium will bring the Reds back face to face with three familiar faces.

Former Barnsley defender turned striker, Jonathan Parkin is now at Cardiff City following his January move from Preston North End.

The Beast has made a habit of scoring against Barnsley in recent years and could be called upon by Dave Jones to lead the attack on Sunday.

Michael Chopra spent a season on loan at Barnsley in the 2004/05 age, scoring 17 goals in his 42 appearances including hat-tricks over Peterborough United and Huddersfield Town.

Stephen McPhail completes the ex-Barnsley trio and is the only one of the three to have won promotion with the Reds.

He was part of the midfield that won a place in the Championship for the Reds after their 2005/06 League One season culminated in a successful penalty shoot-out over Swansea City at the Millennium Stadium in the Play-Off Final.
