Barnsley Sign Defender

Mark Robins has dipped into the loan market to bring in cover for the injured Steve Foster, by signing Paul McShane from Hull City.

Capped 16 times for the Republic of Ireland, McShane joins Barnsley on a two month loan deal with the Tigers retaining the option of a recall after one month if required.

Paul, who came through the ranks as a youngster at Manchester United, goes straight into contention for a place in Barnsley's squad that will make the long trip to Fratton Park to face Portsmouth on Saturday.
