Doyle Contender For Goal Of The Season

Doyle Contender For Goal Of The Season

Some fans hadn't even taken their seats yet this afternoon when Nathan Doyle volleyed in a Goal of the Season contender from 30 yards.

With just four minutes on the clock, the midfielder lashed home a dropping ball in front of the Ponty End, giving Coventry City 'keeper Westwood absolutely no chance.

It was Doyle's second goal of the season, his first, a close range effort against Nottingham Forest a few months earlier.

Previously in his time at the club, Doyle has had the odd wild pop at goal, almost invariably with comedic results, but his strike this afternoon is a serious contender for Goal of the Season and an early one for Goal of 2011.
