Barnsley Career:

Jason Shackell was signed in July 2010 by Mark Robins on a free transfer from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Robins was quick to award Shackell the captain's armband, demoting Stephen Foster in the process.

In his debut season at Barnsley, Shackell has been ever present in the first team and has received glowing reviews from fans, making him an early contender for Player of the Year. He got the Reds home campaign off to a flyer, scoring the only goal of the game against Crystal Palace at Oakwell in August.

To date, Jason has made a total of 22 appearances for the Reds, scoring two goals.
