Reds Seal O'Connor Deal

Barnsley have to thank Mark Robins and Patrick Cryne yet again for striking a deal with Scottish international striker Garry O'Connor, which will see him join the Reds in January on a six month contract.

The big forward plays his final game on his current loan spell at Barnsley this afternoon at Oakwell as the Reds entertain Sheffield United, but becomes a free agent at the same time, with his contract at Birmingham City coming to an end.

The Reds have moved swiftly to secure his signature as soon as possible which is January 1st, when the next transfer window opens.

Unfortunately, O'Connor will miss a few games over the Christmas period as he would have had to have been a free agent at the start of the season to be permitted to sign for Barnsley outside the transfer window.
