Barnsley V Watford: Last Time Out

Barnsley V Watford: Last Time Out

On a run of three straight wins, Barnsley would be more than happy of a repeat of the last result this fiture yeilded. The two sides met at Oakwell in February. This was Vital Barnsley's take on it at the time:

Barnsley can thank the two Fred's on the pitch for Saturday's win over Watford.

Emil Hallfredsson chipped in with his third goal of the season with a delightful finish after doing very well to shake off the Hornet's full back.

But it was the other Fred that sealed the points for the Reds late in the game. Referee Fred Graham, who hadn't handled the game well all afternoon and even had to calm down both sets of benches who were complaining about his decisions, spotted a push in the back on one of Barnsley's defenders as Danny Graham looped a header into the Barnsley net.

The foul was given and the goal was disallowed. Barnsley won 1-0.

However on closer inspection on Barnsley Player, I am struggling to see the push that the ref so thankfully spotted to deny the Hornets a share of the points. The jump above Steve Foster looks clean, the flick on over Darren Moore also looked fair so I can concur with Mark Robin's post match comments that 'We had a bit of help from the referee at the end when he spotted a push in the back.'

Apparently it evens itself out over a season. Or so I'm led to believe. So don't worry Watford...we will concede a header sooner or later!
