Barnsley recorded their first back to back league victories since February as they turned Preston North End over at Deepdale 2-1 and then destroyed Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
It was also the first time they had won back to back away league games since December 2009 and away form was something that had eluded the Reds in recent times until this victory.
Goran Lovre opened the scoring against the Tractor Boys on 21 minutes with a great finish from just inside the box after Jim O'Brien had done well to cut the ball back from the by-line.
Adam Hammill doubled the Tykes' lead on 28 minutes with yet another long range effort. It cannoned back off the foot of the post and hit the Ipswich 'keeper Martin Fulop on the back of the head before crossing the line.
New boy Garry O'Connor continued his goalscoring form in the second half as he stuck in a third for Barnsley and the Tykes were really running the show at Portman Road.
Tommy Smith grabbed a consolation goal for Ipswich Town with just 9 minutes remaining, heading home unmarked from a corner but
Barnsley were able to see the game out in the closing stages and send the 256 travelling supporters back home happy, even if they had been ripped off by the ticket price.
