Rowing: Hume Will Be Back On Thursday

Barnsley Football Club's Director of Football Don Rowing has confirmed that striker Iain Hume will return to Barnsley tomorrow from his emergency loan deal at Preston North End.

Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield, Rowing said: 'We are still in discussions with Preston North End, but we have in the interim asked that he returns from his loan on Thursday. From then on, we will look at having further discussions with them.'

Preston boss Darren Ferguson has expressed his disappointment at this and Iain Hume himself has also said that he would prefer to stay with Preston. Rowing had this to say: 'In instances of this nature when someone's under contract with a club, they know that the code of conduct states that they should keep their peace and any official statements should come from the club. So we are a little bit disappointed.'

With the comments that Hume has made, it does look as though he is, whether he cares or not, burning all his bridges with Barnsley once and for all, but the fact remains that he will be a Barnsley player until January 2011 at least and he would have been back in December from his 93 day loan at Preston anyway.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you believe Hume has played his last game for Barnsley?
