Burnley V Barnsley: Player Connections

Only 52 miles of road separate the two clubs competing tomorrow night at Turf Moor and Burnley and Barnsley have quite a few players and ex players in common.

Former Reds captain and current defender Stephen Foster spent a season at Burnley after leaving his first club Crewe Alexandra in 2006, making a total of 20 appearances for the Clarets before signing for the Reds.

Scottish international and Reds defender James McEveley also had a short loan spell with the Clarets when he made 5 appearances in late 2003 and early 2004.

Andy Gray joined Burnley in 2006 for £750000 from Sunderland after a successful loan spell. He held a prolific record in the league for the Clarets, scoring 28 goals in 68 starts

Young striker Jay Rodriguez joined Barnsley on loan late in the season last term and made 6 appearances in total including one start and a goal in the 4-1 victory at Preston North End.
