Doyle On Target For The First Time For Barnsley

Nathan Doyle has endured a bit of a rough time of late but a recall to the starting eleven for the former Hull City man saw him in the right place at the right time to open the scoring at Oakwell this afternoon.

With only five minutes on the clock between Barnsley and Nottingham Forest, the midfielder strode late into the Forest box to tuck home his first ever goal in a Barnsley shirt to put the Reds on the road to their 3-1 victory, sending Nottingham Forest back home with nothing.

Forest were unbeaten since the opening day of the season, but looked lacklustre in front of a resilient Barnsley side who were looking for their first win in five.

It was Doyle's 45th appearance for the Reds since his original loan move from Hull City. He had hacked plenty of efforts high and wide from outside the bo until this afternoon, but he kept his cool today to fire the Reds into the lead.
