O'Connor Back For Tykes

O'Connor Back For Tykes

Loan signing Garry O'Connor should be fit to return to action this Saturday for Barnsley after missing Tuesday night's 0-0 draw with Scunthorpe at Glanford Park through injury.

The Birmingham City striker joined the Reds on a one month loan deal, scoring on his debut in the 5-2 drubbing of Leeds United at Oakwell, but picked up an injury in training prior to last night's game, leaving the door open for Andy Gray to step back into the first team.

Mark Robins told Barnsley Player: 'I think Jay (McEveley) will be back for Saturday. O'Connor will be back for Saturday so it gives us a few more options again.'

Luke Potter deputised for the injured Jay McEveley on Tuesday night and looked decent but I'd expect McEveley to step straight back into the side once he is fully fit.

Hopefully, O'Connor will be back to scoring form for the Reds as they look to maintain their unbeaten home record against a lethal Cardiff City attack.
