Robins Delighted With Win

Mark Robins is delighted with this afternoon's victory at home to Middlesbrough.

The Reds claimed their second clean sheet at Oakwell and their second home win, maintaining their 100% record at home this season.

Speaking to the BBC after the game, Robins said: 'It was a great win. I think everybody contributed to a fantastic win.'

Robins also singled out Liverpudlian winger Adam Hammill with praise for his entire performance: 'He's a typical winger. Sometimes he frustrates the life out of you and other times he brings you to the edge of your seat and off your seat.'

Hammill picked up the ball 10 yards inside his own half with seconds to spare until the final whistle, before going on an excellent run, riding challenges from three different Middlesbrough players before slotting home coolly to put the tie beyond any doubt.

Robins dampened talk of the excellent record Barnsley held against the better placed teams in the league last year, that saw them beat all four teams that finished in the Play-Off spots, including doubles over Cardiff City and Blackpool. They also avoided defeat to second places West Brom, taking four points from the two meetings: 'That was last season. This season is totally different. We've played four games now so we've got to look at the performances this year.'
