Ex Reds With Robins

When the Reds go to Ashton Gate tomorrow they will be greeted by two familiar faces and arguably two of Barnsley's best players from the last 3 years.

Lewin Nyatanga could line up for the Robins in defence. He impressed Simon Davey while on loan from Derby County at the end of the 2006/07 season and pressure grew for the erstwhile manager to bring the defender in on a permanent basis. Davey managed to secure a six month loan for the youngster the following season. He returned to Oakwell again in January that season, after a brief spell back at Derby, and helped keep the Reds in the Championship, partnering Denis Souza in central defence.

Nyatanga made a total of 51 appearances for the Reds, scoring 2 goals.

Jamal Campbell-Ryce made his exit to Bristol City from the Reds in January this year after falling out of favour with Mark Robins. Campbell-Ryce was always a crowd favourite with his lightning pace and trickery exciting the fans.

Campbell-Ryce made exactly 100 appearances for Barnsley, scoring 13 goals. Hopefully, if he does start, Jay McEveley will be able to keep him quiet.
