'If It's Football, It's Vital'

In The Iron Corner

Vital Scunthorpe's Iron Man is next to take Vital Barnsley's 'Getting To Know You' interview, as we look forward to the new season:

Q: What made you become a Scunthorpe United supporter?

When I was 11, For my birthday, My granddad got me a Match ticket. And ever since my first game onwards I was hooked. I just couldn't get enough of them.

Q: Do you remember your first Scunthorpe United game?

My first game was against Doncaster Rovers at home and I'm sure the score was 4-1 to Scunthorpe. But whatever the score was it was great game which I will always remember.

Q: Who is your favourite Scunthorpe United player from your lifetime?

Probably Billy Sharp, he scored 23 league goals in a season in League One.

Q: And your favourite current Scunthorpe United player?

Gary Hooper, Although it is looking likely that he will leave this summer.

Q: What do you love about Scunthorpe United?

Just watching them rise through the league, and hopefully one day to the premiership, but I will be there even non-league (I hope not though).

Q: what would you change about Scunthorpe United?

Nothing about the club. But maybe the away kit....it's too bright.

Q: Pick out the best and worst moment of last season?

Worst.... Losing to Cardiff on the opening day of the season.

Best..... Losing to Manchester City. Just to play them at Glanford Park was great!

Q: What are your expectations for next season?

I would be happy just to avoid relegation, but I would much rather prefer mid-table.

Q: Who will stand out for Scunthorpe United next season?

Too early to call at the moment, let's see what pre-season gives us.

Q: If you could bring any player into the Scunthorpe United squad, money and reputation aside, who would it be?

Messi, now he can score goals, and would look right at home at Glanford park!

Q: Most memorable game against Barnsley and why?

2-1 win last season, Because I can't remember that many.

Many thanks to Iron Man from Vital Scunthorpe and best of luck for the new season. More to come from our opponents' Vital Eds later!
