'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Supporter Interview

Q: What made you become a Barnsley supporter?

My dad, it's in the blood.

Q: Do you remember your first Barnsley game?

Norwich in 1996 - 3-0 I think, Adie Moses scored a belter of a goal.

Q: Who is your favourite Barnsley player from your lifetime?

Neil Redfearn

Q: And your favourite current Barnsley player?

Stephen Foster

Q: What do you love about Barnsley?

The team spirit. Which is vital for a little town like us.

Q: What would you change about Barnsley?

The West Stand.

Q: Are you happy with last season's performance?

More satisfied than happy - a change of management is a big thing which can swing either way. The club did well to bring in their man and fortunately it's turned out fine. We could have finished higher but for some silly mistakes.

Q: Pick out the best and worst moment of last season?

Bobby Hassell's late equaliser against Newcastle was quite epic - the way the crowd erupted and celebrated, though in fairness we could have had the three points. The worst was probably the reverse fixture - having a player dismissed for a foul he never committed is a difficult one to take. The inevitable onslaught certainly ensued!

Q: What are your expectations for next season?

Top-half is the aim, of course. But why not dream of the play-offs? Look at Blackpool and previously Burnley.

Q: Who will stand out for Barnsley next season?

I've heard a lot of good things about Goran Lovre, I expect him to do well. But young Jim O'Brien is also tipped for a bright future.

Q: If you could bring any player into the Barnsley squad, money and reputation aside, who would it be?

Obvious, isn't it? Jimmy Bullard!
