Robins swoop for Wednesday's Spurr?

As the rumour mill continues to spin into the Summer, rumours are rife of a South Yorkshire swoop for Sheffield Wednesday's Tommy Spurr.

A product of the Owls' successful youth system, Spurr was an ever-present last season - totalling 46 appearances for the Hillsborough outfit as they plummeted to League One.

It would certainly be a very interesting switch should there be any truth in this strong rumour - with transfers between rival clubs being few and far between.

Spurr, who turns 23 this September, bagged a goal against the Reds in the South Yorkshire derby at Oakwell in January.

The 22-year-old is a natural left-back but the money must be right if Robins is to tempt the young defender away from S6.

Robins certainly needs to bulk up the squad, although Spurr may be the ideal candidate - young and hungry with plenty of quality - the money must be right for both sides.

A half decent offer and he's yours! One of the reasons we're down where we are now

Vastly over-rated player.

Puts a decent cross over, but couldn't defend if his life depended on it. If someone put up half a mill, I'd snatch their hands off.

hmm...bad spelling, use of the word "proverbial", incorrectly calling the site a "blog" and the fact you don't know this article was written by matty G, must be a sour faced wendy called Hackney!
