Moore Gone For A Burton
After the disappointment of not being offered a new deal at Oakwell, Darren Moore in true Big Daz fashion has picked himself up, dusted himself down and got on with the job in hand by signing for Burton Albion.
Burton expressed interest in the big 36-year-old defender after he was released by Barnsley last week and the former West Brom hero has wasted no time in agreeing a deal to join former Derby County teammate Paul Peschisolido at the league 2 outfit.
Darren told the Burton Albion official website: 'This is a fresh challenge that I'm looking forward to. Me and the gaffer played together at Derby and we were part of a really successful team there.' Moore won promotion to the Premier League alongside Peschisolido with the men from Pride Park, winning the Player of the Season award the following year.
Moore spent two seasons with the Reds under Simon Davey and then Mark Robins, winning over the fans after a shaky start with his solid performances and completely professional attitude.
Moore goes to Burton Albion with Vital Barnsley's utmost respect and best wishes for success in the future.
Cheers, Big Dazza!
