Robins Gunning For Glory

As the end of the season approaches, it`s squeaky bum time for some teams as promotion and relegation beckon. For once, that doesn`t include us and it`s a bitter sweet feeling really because although we know we`re safe for another season, the result is that the football we have to watch for the rest of this campaign is garbage.

Garbage isn`t quite the word I would use to describe it, but Mark Robins has to refrain from using bad language in interviews. He told the official website after the Swansea game that he thinks "Swansea are a good side, but we were garbage.'

He continued: "'I won quite a lot of trophies and promotions in my playing days, and I want to better those achievements as a manager."

This also gives me a bitter sweet feeling as a supporter of the club, because while we have a young, hungry and openly ambitious manager at the helm it worries me that the club isn`t big enough to match his ambitions. The lack of support and wealth concern me because if he can`t achieve his ambitions with us, there a plenty of bigger club`s with whom he could probably fulfill them and at a much faster rate.

Besides, with the style of football we`re playing lately the only silverware we`re likely to win is the Johnston`s Paint Trophy.
