Reds Safe Despite Breckin's Warning

Reds Safe Despite Breckin's Warning

After three seasons of struggling to retain their Championship status the Reds have avoided the drop with plenty of room to spare this time.

They currently sit 8 points above 22nd placed Sheffield Wednesday who are the last team in the drop zone with the ability of catching the Reds. Plymouth and Peterborough are too far adrift now to catch us.

Crystal Palace in 21st, are a point above Sheffield Wednesday, 7 points behind the Reds.

Here comes the crucial factor: Crystal Palace play Sheffield Wednesday on the final day of the season, meaning that even if the Reds lose their final three games and Crystal Palace and Wednesday each win their next two, one of them will still not be able to catch the Reds on the final day of the season because only one of them can take 3 points and 1 point each would not be enough to catch the Reds and send them down instead.

So rest easy Barnsley fans. It is over. Despite what John Breckin has been saying about not being safe from relegation yet, we are.
