'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Former Reds With Robins

There will be a couple of familiar faces at Ashton Gate on Tuesday when the Reds travel to Bristol City for a mid table showdown.

Lewin Nyatanga was once a favourite at Oakwell. He impressed Simon Davey while on loan from Derby County at the end of the 2006/07 season and pressure grew for the erstwhile manager to bring the defender in on a permanent basis. Davey managed to secure a six month loan for the youngster the following season. He returned to Oakwell again in January that season, after a brief spell back at Derby, and helped keep the Reds in the Championship, partnering Denis Souza in central defence.

Nyatanga made a total of 51 appearances for the Reds, scoring 2 goals.

Another former Red sure to get a good reception, at least before the game, is Jamal Campbell-Ryce. The tricky little winger will surely be a thorn in the Reds` side on Tuesday but Barnsley fans will hopefully show their appreciation before the match for the great memories he gave us. To mention just a couple, the stunning winner at Hillsborough and the winner at Plymouth that ultimately ensured our Championship survival last term.

Campbell-Ryce made exactly 100 appearances for Barnsley, scoring 13 goals.
